Will the sofa fit through the door? Twist it and see

Whether a sofa gets through your door has little to do with its length. What matters is its cross-section: the outline you'd see looking at one end. Two of its three measurements have to slip through the gap, at some angle.

Put in your sofa and doorway, twist it in the opening, and see what unscrewing the legs does.
