Why does paint look different at 8am and 8pm? Slide the day and see

The same paint can look grey at breakfast and yellow by supper, and the paint tin is not to blame. A colour is the pigment and the light on it, so a north window, a low evening sun and a warm lamp each tell your eye something different.

Pick a colour, choose which way your window faces and slide through the day to see the wall change. Then learn how to test a sample properly before you buy a whole tin, and what to change instead if you rent and cannot paint.
